Cridlands has a demonstrated commitment to the training of junior lawyers, generally recruiting 2 to 3 graduates each year.
Graduates are rotated through the various practice areas of the firm, spending 3 to 5 months in each practice area. This provides valuable exposure to all aspects of law practised at Cridlands.
Graduates share the office of a senior practitioner (often a partner) which is called backbenching. This allows them the opportunity to become immediately and directly acquainted with basic professional skills, the ethical standards expected of Cridlands' lawyers and the way a partner or a senior practitioner manages their practice and deals with clients.
Graduates attend to various matters delegated to them by senior practitioners working in the area in which they have been placed. Their work is at all times closely supervised by a partner, a senior associate or a senior lawyer.
At the conclusion of their training, and subject to their permanent engagement by Cridlands as admitted legal practitioners, every endeavour is made to place Graduates in the practice area which best suits their respective interests and aptitude.
To apply for a Graduate Clerkship, please submit your application, detailing your career history and academic record, to the Human Resources Manager.
